This week, lawmakers reached agreement on an appropriations package that cut short a brief federal government shutdown. Importantly for Council members, this legislation includes provisions, supported by the Council, requiring hospital billing transparency and greater transparency and accountability from pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) to employers.
