Council membership gives your company a powerful voice in shaping corporate benefits policy at the national, state, and global levels. Our dedicated staff work closely with you and advocate on your behalf across all facets of plan design and administration — including advocacy, compliance, education, communication, and innovation.
As a Council member, you join the nation’s largest network of more than 400 leading plan sponsors and service providers, collectively driving retirement, health, paid leave, compensation and global benefits programs. Representing the full spectrum of the private employee benefits community, our members collectively either directly sponsor or administer health, retirement and paid leave benefits for virtually all Americans covered by employer-sponsored plans.
“The Council’s proactive work with lawmakers and regulatory agencies has ensured that employer-sponsored benefits remain a viable and effective solution for our employees and dependents. Their technical expertise and strategic advice are essential to the success of our benefits mission.”
— Fred Thiele, Vice President, Global Benefits and Mobility, Microsoft Corporation
When your company becomes a member, all Council services are included at no further charge beyond the one annual membership dues investment. Individuals associated with their employer’s membership can take advantage of all Council benefits. There is no limit on the number of employees who can participate and no further cost to include them. We encourage companies to include all employees from their human resources, finance, legal, payroll, leave administration, government affairs or any other departments who have benefits or compensation responsibilities. This includes all business locations and offices worldwide.
Membership includes direct access to Council staff, who can assist members with compliance challenges and address questions on existing or new benefits-related laws and regulations.
Members are invited to timely webinars on key employee benefits topics and have full access to past webinar resources and recordings. The live sessions may also provide you with continuing education credits.
Informal benchmarking surveys offer an on-time look at what others are providing or considering in their plan designs and the possible impact of relevant legislation or regulation.
The Council’s policy staff is available to all associate members and will work with your team’s unique needs. Click here to view our staff list.
Continuing education credit verification is available as we are an approved sponsor for many legal and benefits certifications and accreditations.
The Council staff represent you and the plan sponsor community before all branches of the federal government. Your government affairs staff frequently team with our advocacy colleagues in visits to Capitol Hill and in various benefits coalitions. We also update your Washington D.C. associates on benefits policy issues on a regular basis through meetings specifically for them.
Membership includes access to original Council publications written especially for you. From news to detailed analyses, the Council covers legislative, regulatory and judicial developments specifically geared to benefits professionals.
The Council hosts activities and provides resources addressing international benefits because we understand the complexities in design and operational challenges for multinational companies. Council membership includes a partner membership program with the International Employee Benefits Association (IEBA).
Members are invited to a variety of free forums, committees and task forces to meet and discuss current trends with fellow benefits professionals.
Get full access to a library of bills, regulations, summaries, position papers, comment letters, talking points and more on developing and past benefits issues.
