Council experts available to comment on pension reform legislation

| WHAT:
| Council staff are available to comment on the Pension Protection Act (H.R. 4), the final pension legislation composed primarily of elements of the House of Representatives-passed Pension Protection Act of 2005 (H.R. 2830) and the Senate-passed Pension Security and Transparency Act of 2005 (S. 1783). H.R. 4 was passed by the House on July 28 and the Senate is expected to act on it soon.
Council experts will be available to detail issues related to defined benefit plans, hybrid defined benefit plans, defined contribution retirement plans, and features making permanent the retirement provisions of the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001
(EGTRRA).
