|WHAT:||The Council is available to comment on any health policy or retirement savings policy proposals arising from President Barack Obama's State of the Union address on Tuesday, January 20.
The president is expected to outline his proposal on retirement savings, which includes initiatives to expand access to savings, but also to limit retirement account balances. The Council issued a statement yesterday on why this initiative, intended to target individuals with large retirement account balances, will negatively affect younger workers and inhibit savings needed for future retirement security. Given the continued disputes between the President and Congress regarding the future of health care reform, we expect the President will address that issue as well.
