May 23, 2025
in observance of Mental Health Awareness Month, Council President Katy Johnson discusses employers’ role in providing mental and behavioral health support to millions of families nationwide.
Johnson also highlights two recent policy developments: on May 20, she was one of a select group of mental health stakeholders invited to a meeting with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. to discuss the need for outcomes-based therapy. And, as we reported in the May 16 Benefits Byte, the Trump administration recently announced that the tri-agencies will not enforce the 2024 final mental health parity regulations for any noncompliance that occurs before a final decision in ongoing litigation, plus an additional 18 months.
